Happy New Year, Good Old Core Values.

A very happy new year… I hope you all have a prosperous 2013. I’ve been mulling over the last year and, after a nicely busy start to 2012, my business got a little too busy… I nearly forgot why the business was doing so well.

When you run a small business, losing sight of where you are going and why you are going there is easy to do when you get caught up in the actual ‘doing’ the business… but a break at the end of the year is as much a time to reflect as it is to plan… so I’ve done both.

If you are one of those customers that I’ve been dealing with since I started running my business nearly 16 years ago now, you’ll know I’ve had a pride in the way I work. I believe in these simple core values and it’s worth restating them here:

  • The computer equipment that your business relies on should be of a high quality. The operating systems and software they run should also be reliable, not necessarily the latest versions.
  • Your systems should be configured to standard model. This is important because issues on one system are more easily solved on another. Standards are constantly reviewed improved upon across all clients systems and so you will indirectly benefit from the work we do for other clients.
  • We’ll deal with your small business in an entirely professional manner. Your business will only become truly efficient if we treat it like it’s already a large and successful business.

So, thank you for a successful 2012 – I enjoyed working with you – but now lets make 2013 even better… watch this blog for news of a new starter and new helpdesk system we’re implementing.
